Worship Devotional for 4/19/20
Hey everyone! This week we continue to sing about the wonderful and glorious truth of the resurrection of Jesus. He is alive, and we are alive with Him! We can confidently and joyfully agree with Paul in Philippians 1:21:
"For me to live is Christ and to die is gain."
Whatever you're going through this week and in this season, remember that the pain and hardship won't last forever. We have a hope that will. Trust in the Lord.
Here are the songs:
1) Praise The King by Corey Voss
There's a reason we have the hope we have. There's a reason we proclaim the gospel and no longer live for ourselves. There's a reason we aren't the same as we used to be, but have been changed forever. Our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, is alive! He has been raised from the dead, and so we also have life in Him forever. Hallelujah!
2) Death Was Arrested by NorthPoint Worship
Jesus has been given authority over everything as the righteous, risen King of kings and Lord of lords. That includes authority over death. Death is no longer able to rule over those who believe in Jesus' name. It has been arrested and brought under His authority. For us, death is now merely gain. We no longer need to live in fear, for our King is alive and sits upon His eternal throne. Nothing can stand against those He loves.
3) Because He Lives by Bill Gaither
We live in uncertain times, especially now in this season with everything that's been going on. The whole world is being swayed by fear. We've seen that we cannot grasp or control the future. Yet we as believers can still stand in full confidence, completely unafraid, at peace, and free from worrying about the future as we trust in the name of Jesus Christ. Why is this? It is simply because He lives. The only real and lasting reason we have to live this life is because He lives. This truth is what gives us hope to press on and endure every hardship and struggle that comes our way. By His life and resurrection we have hope and life that lasts forever. We no longer have anything to be afraid of. He holds the future.
4) Christ Is Risen by Matt Maher
This song is a call to all of us who believe to come awake, to stand in the light, and to proclaim the life and victory of Jesus. However God leads and enables you, share the good news of Jesus' death and life with anyone you can. Anyone who believes in Him is redeemed and justified by His blood, will be set free from their sins through His death, and will be brought into new and eternal life through His resurrection. Hallelujah!

Rejoice even in the most difficult times, because we as believers are headed toward glory. Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!
