Worship Devotional for 8/9/20
This week's songs are about God's faithfulness. In hard and stressful times, it is comforting to remember that He is always faithful, no matter what. Whatever you may be going through, He who promised is faithful, and He will never leave or forsake you.
Hebrews 10:23:
"Let us hold onto the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful."
Here are the songs:
1) Do It Again by Elevation Worship
God is faithful to His people. He has been faithful to every single one of us, even when we were faithless. His word stands forever. Therefore we can trust in Him and believe that He will continue to be faithful in the future. Hold onto His promises!
2) Always by Kristian Stanfill
Lift your eyes to the One who is faithful. He has never failed and never will. He has always been true and good and will always be. In the midst of the trials and wars and struggles of this life, we have a true and eternal refuge in God, who also gives us strength. Even when it seems like He is delayed in His response on our behalf, we need to remember that He knows the right time to act. We may need to wait upon Him for longer than we would like, but He knows what He is doing and He is for us and not against us. He will do what He has promised according to His perfect timing, despite our lack of understanding.
Every real victory comes from the Lord. We can rejoice even in hard times because of His faithfulness. Hold fast and keep moving forward as you wait expectantly for the fulfillment of His promises.
4) Always Faithful by Ashes Remain
It is far easier to say that God is faithful when things are going well. But what is the response of our hearts deep inside when things get real and we become overwhelmed by stress or darkness or temptation or sorrow or fear or weakness? God's faithfulness is steadfast through it all. Keep trusting in Him. Keep seeking Him. Keep serving and praising Him. For He is the One who faithfully keeps us in His love and protection and care.
